Who We Are

EnterpriseWorks/VITA (EWV) based in Washington DC is an international not-for-profit organization working to combat poverty through economic development programs based on sustainable, enterprise-oriented solutions. EWV has worked with local businesses and organizations for more than 40 years in 100 countries. 

By supporting profit-making enterprises to create employment and to increase productivity and profits, EWV addresses the challenges of rural, peri-urban, and urban development. 

EnterpriseWorks/VITA's programs have a benefit/cost ratio of 4:1. In the past year alone, EWV's programs have benefited close to 2.3 million people by helping them to generate more than $112 million in income. Increased resources allow families to improve their standard of living, afford better health care, education and food.
